RVC Council Elects Don Kochan as Mayor

The new council held its organization meeting yesterday, October 26th. The first full council meeting will be November 9th.

At its organization meeting, council chose Division 2’s newly-elected Don Kochan to be the County’s mayor and re-elected Division 3 councillor Crystal Kissel as deputy mayor. Re-elected Division 1 councillor Kevin Hanson will serve as Council’s representative on the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board. In case you missed it, the previous council changed the names from reeve and deputy reeve to mayor and deputy mayor. The positions are still the “first among equals” – as selected by council.
